Parkview Christian School is a private, K-12 institution committed to offering excellent academic instruction, a challenging curriculum, a variety of extra- and co-curricular activities, and Biblical instruction. Founded in 1980 by the congregation of the Calvary Community Church and its pastor, Dr. Carl Godwin, Parkview is a small, intimate school where students can expect to interact closely with faculty and peers each day. All high school students stay with a host family which gives them an opportunity to use English each day and experience U.S. culture as part of a family.

International Students

In 2009, international student enrollment at Parkview Christian School increased by 300% from the previous year. In 2009 there were three Vietnamese students, but that number has grown to nine by 2010. In May 2010 the first two Vietnamese students (Minh Hoang and Phuong Nguyen) graduated from Parkview Christian School. Since 1980, Parkview has moved from being a local-oriented school to a destination for international students.

In-State Tuition

Students who plan to attend college in the state of Nebraska gain an advantage by attending Parkview Christian School for their high school education. All international students who graduate from Parkview are considered “Nebraska residents.” This distinction allows international students who enroll in Nebraska colleges to pay just 1/3 of the tuition that normal international students must pay. By graduating from Parkview, students are no longer technically “international students” but are instead treated as Nebraska residents. This provides an excellent pathway to affordable higher education in Nebraska.

The Homestay Advantage

Students who study at Parkview Christian School have the chance to live with an American family during their time in high school. Families who house students are screened and must pass a thorough background check to ensure the safety of all students who take advantage of this opportunity. Living with a host family requires a student to speak English at school and at home, meaning that they receive the most practice possible.

Small Vietnamese Population

Because of their work with AMVN Exchange, Parkview Christian School boasts a small population of Vietnamese students. Last year, two Vietnamese students graduated with high school diplomas and two more are on track to complete high school this year. Students can even start at Parkview as early as 8th grade, like two of the students who started in 2010.
