Annie Wright School was founded on the dreams of the Right Reverend John Adams Paddock and the hard work of Charles Barstow Wright. The school was originally founded in 1884 as the Annie Wright Seminary and has developed and transformed from there. For girls in grades 9 through 12 who are ready to develop authentic passions and make a well-rounded education a priority, Annie Wright offers an extraordinary and enduring educational experience based around four experiential pillars: the all-girls experience, the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma program, college and ACT/SAT prep academics, and a performance-based activities program.
The All-Girls Experience
As the oldest all-girls school in the Pacific Northwest, the Annie Wright Upper School has a rich and respected heritage of educating young women.
International Baccalaureate
For truly ambitious and talented students seeking the best high school academic program, Annie Wright provides the International Baccalaureate degree.
ESL Classes
Basic or advanced proficiency in a second language is a fundamental part of a college preparatory course, particularly in the global context in which our students now live.In all language classes, even eventually at the first-year level, classes are conducted entirely in the target language, and materials used as references, tools and resources are authentic. In ESL classes, all classes at all levels are conducted 100% in English. The Annie Wright School English as a Second Language (ESL) program is dedicated to helping students for whom English is not a first language to improve their English skills to the level necessary to be academically and socially successful at Annie Wright and in their college of choice.

Life at a Boarding School
Living in a dorm during high school is a wonderful experience. Boarding school gives students the chance to live with people from places like Taiwan, Korea, Japan and Germany. The dorm is where cultures come together and students learn a respect for diversity. Girls who come and stay at the school will build lifelong connections with their fellow students, and also learn how to live independently.
